Nick Walker Bio

Nick Walker, aka “The Mutant,” is an American IFBB pro bodybuilder from New Jersey. And he is currently competing for the coveted Mr. Olympia title in the open bodybuilding category.

Before getting into bodybuilding, Nick Walker had a troubled childhood involving abuse and drugs. But he was able to endure the hardships and eventually found his calling in the gym.

Walker began competitive bodybuilding in 2012 at the age of 18 and has battled through nearly two dozen contests since then to become one of the top professionals in the sport. In the last few years, Nick has gained popularity with well over 1 million followers on Instagram.

Nick Walker Contest History

After competing in his first show in 2012, Nick Walker went on to compete in 14 more shows before finally winning his IFBB pro card in 2020 at the Pittsburgh Pro North American Championships.

The following year, in 2021, Walker won the New York Pro to qualify for the Mr. Olympia contest. In the same year, he took first place in the prestigious Arnold Classic and fifth place in the Olympia, securing his place in the pro bodybuilding world.

Nick Walker Height and Weight

Nick Walker’s world-class physique is massive. But in the world of bodybuilding, size can be deceiving.

One reason is that shorter bodybuilders tend to fill out faster due to their compact frames. By comparison, taller bodybuilders may not appear as massive because of their longer limbs.

So just how big is Nick Walker? Let’s take a look.

How Tall Is Nick Walker?

According to multiple sources, Nick Walker stands 5’7″ (170cm) tall. While this is 2 inches shorter than the average man, Walker is by no means the shortest bodybuilder on the Olympia stage.

In fact, Walker is about an inch taller than Hadi Choopan, the 2022 Mr. Olympia overall winner. Below you can see Nick Walker’s height compared to the top five finishers in the 2021 Olympia contest.

Nick Walker Transformation

With a nickname like The Mutant, you may think Nick Walker is a genetic freak that has been a mass monster since birth. However, Nick didn’t look that much different than most other teenagers when he first started lifting weights.

In the Instagram post below, Walker shows his transformation from 18 to 28 years old. Young Nick doesn’t look like a mutant, but he does show some mesomorphic traits, such as a high arching rib cage and a naturally athletic build.

Clearly, Nick Walker has come a long way since he first began bodybuilding. But it didn’t happen overnight as the before and after photos sometimes make it seem.

Instead, Walker has been consistently training and competing for over a decade. And his progression can be seen more clearly in the transformation graphic below.
