Is it hard to cancel an esporta membership? ›

In early 2020, LA Fitness launched their new downmarket Esporta Fitness brand (intended to compete with high-volume, low-price gyms like Planet Fitness), and rebranded several former LA Fitness locations as Esporta Fitness, mostly based on the East coast. In 2024, LA Fitness acquired XSport Fitness.

Memberships may require an initiation fee, down payment and/or annual fee as indicated on membership agreement, except as required by law. Single club pricing not available at all locations. Signature, Multi State club membership allows access to all LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness, and City Sports Clubs in US and Canada.

Which clubs can I use? If you have an Esporta Basic membership, you will only be able to access your home club.

Passes issued for over 1 month will not be honored. Limit of one free pass per person every six months. Guests cannot use consecutive passes for admittance to the facility or other LA FitnessCity Sports locations.

Freezing your membership is a great way to retain your membership. Whether you are going on holiday or returning from injury, freezing means you don't need to cancel and pay a Joining Fee when you come back – so it's a great way to help you save!

Can I put my membership on hold? Yes you can, we call our hold option Time Freeze. Time Freeze is available for a minimum period of 2 weeks up to a maximum of 4 weeks each calendar year at a cost of $5 per week.

You'll normally have to pay the full cost of your contract if you want to cancel a gym membership early. For example, if you cancel a one-year contract after 6 months, you'll usually have to pay for the remaining 6 months.

The best way to cancel your gym membership typically involves reviewing your contract terms for cancellation policies, notifying the gym in writing, and following their specific cancellation procedures, such as filling out a cancellation form or sending a certified letter.

Formally request to cancel your membership.

Provide a brief account of your reason(s) for canceling your membership. Acknowledge the gym's cancellation policy and your adherence to it (are you within your right to cancel, will you pay the cancellation fee or are you eligible for a waiver, etc.).

After the 14-day cancellation period you may terminate your Membership at any time by cancelling the direct debit mandate with your bank. Your Membership will end with immediate effect, and no refund will be due.
